Aldercar and Langley Mill Mothers' Union Branch was re-formed in
2003 after a gap of about 30 years. We have about 12 members,
including Lindsay our Anglican Vicar, most of whom have other
responsibilities in the church and many also go out to work.
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm either in St John's
church or at the Vicarage, depending on the weather. We
occasionally have visiting speakers, but with small numbers we
aim to put prayer at the centre of our meetings, supporting our
ministers, the parish, and the needs of the area. We pick up on
local subjects for discussion, and also support in prayer our local
charity shop, The Lighthouse, which supports a Christian worker in
local schools.
Our new banners, designed and worked by members, are displayed
in our churches and portray a fishing boat (for St Andrews' ) with
the wording "I will make you fishers of men", and for St John's the
design features a cross with the world at is centre, with our aim
"Working with Christ all round the world".
Our Branch Leader is Marney Leverton.
Please feel free to e-mail Marney for further details.
